Jamboree of the Southern California Genealogy Society next month

I will be a virtual speaker at Jamboree again this year. Hopefully you will be able to attend. For more information and to register go to www.genealogyjamboree.com  It would be great if we can get together in person in Burbank for next year's conference again in 2022.

My topic will be "Finding Joy and other Ana-Baptist Mennonite Cousins." The story begins with my surprisingly easy task of uniting an old colleague with her octogenarian half sister that she knew only as "Joy." That turns out to be only the beginning of this tale that includes working around records that burned in a 19th century courthouse fire. This opens the door to tracing Joy and her newly connected cousins back to Switzerland around 1600 where the long paper trail was confirmed by DNA. Then the extreme genealogical trail ultimately leaped back to Africa thousands of years ago. Is this possible? Come and see!
